Persol is a luxury Italian eyewear brand offering both an optical and sunglass range. Established in 1917 by Giuseppe Ratti, Persol’s aim was to provide for pilots and sports drivers. The plastic Persol frames are all made in Italy using a cellulose acetate, making it a hypoallergenic material derived from cotton.
The brand is famous for the flexible system of their temples (arms), known as the Meflecto system. This was one of the first ever spring hinge mechanisms developed for eyewear.
