Our objective is to provide you with the lenses that are the most practical and comfortable for you. Each individual requires prescription glasses for different reasons and various focal points, therefore we aim to tailor the lens and prescription to your needs.

Single Vision Lenses

Single vision lenses are an individual lens that contain the same power throughout the whole lens. Single vision lenses are most commonly prescribed to individuals who only require one vision correction, whether it be close up or at long distances.

If a person suffers from short-sightedness or myopia, it means they can see things up close clearly but have trouble focussing on objects in the distance (eg; street signs, television and sports games). In this instance, the optometrist will prescribe a distance prescription tailored to the individual’s vision.

If a person suffers from long-sightedness or hyperopia, it means they can see things far away clearly but have trouble focussing on objects close to them (eg; book, computer, sewing). In this instance, the Optometrist will prescribe a reading prescription tailored to the individual’s prescription.

Multifocal Lenses

A multifocal lens is simply a lens which combines multiple powers into one lens. There are many different versions of a multifocal lens which are specific to the individual needs of the user. Multifocal lenses are prescribed to a patient who struggles with both long-sightedness and short-sightedness, therefore needing a correction for both distances. The multifocal lens provides a more convenient alternative to multiple pairs of glasses. With slight head adjustments, the multifocal lens allows you to experience clear vision at all distances without having to swap glasses.

There are multifocal lens options which are made for everyday use or lenses which are tailored to more of an office environment. With the latest advances in technology, the options are endless. Call us to book a Bulk Billed eye examination and discuss the options with our Optometrist to find the lens that is perfect for you.

Bifocal Lenses

Before multifocal lenses were developed, bifocal lenses were a great alternative to multiple pairs of glasses. With the development of technology, multifocal lenses are now more commonly prescribed as they are not only more practical, but also more aesthetically pleasing. Even with this being the case, we still offer bifocal lenses to those individuals who prefer the lens or are simply incompatible with a multifocal lens.
